Quirky, funky and eclectic: that’s the Darlo Bar. Officially known as the Royal Sovereign, the “Darlo” has become a second home to locals in the area, charmed by its warmth, tiger print lampshades and 50s Formica tables. With large windows looking out onto Darlinghurst road, the pub is also the perfect place to enjoy a drink and watch the area’s colourful street life wander by.
For those too busy playing pool or too content in a vinyl chair to leave, friendly Darlo staff can order food from popular local cafes and restaurants, at no extra charge. A well-stocked bottle shop is particularly popular with locals heading out for a night on the town.
The upper levels of the hotel have recently been converted into stylish hotel rooms. These have shared bathroom facilities which are modern, clean and well maintained. The Darlo has recently added the Patio, a Garden Wonderland upstairs which is very popular with the eclectic Darlinghurst community.
